2 PFAS Health Studies Near You
Two studies seek answers to how drinking water containing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) affects health.
You may qualify for one or both studies. The more people—children and adults— who take part, the more we’ll learn how PFAS affects our bodies.
The Pease Study
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) are studying the health effects of drinking water that contains PFAS in and around the Pease International Tradeport.
ENROLLMENT OPEN FOR ADULTS & CHILDREN
We urge all who have worked at or lived near the Tradeport or whose children attended Tradeport daycare to find out if they can take part in the Pease Study.
PFAS-REACH Study
Silent Spring Institute and its partners are studying how exposures to PFAS in drinking water may affect children’s immune systems. The study is enrolling preschool-aged children born to mothers who worked at the Tradeport before 2014, when elevated levels of PFAS were discovered in the drinking water.
ENROLLMENT OPEN FOR PRESCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN
