Preliminary Identification and Next Steps
You are now ready to decide whether people who are coming in contact with selected chemicals could get sick from their exposure.
To do this, you take the following steps
- Calculate site-specific doses(A site-specific dose is an estimate of the amount of a chemical that enters a person’s body in a specific way and for a specific period of time.)
- Select health guidelines
- Compare site-specific doses to health guidelines (observed effect levels)
- Assess relevance of the critical study
- Evaluate other substance-specific factors
- Evaluate site-specific health effects data
