The Labcorp team will develop an integrated system combining routine clinical laboratory testing, metagenomic sequencing, and innovative data analysis software for early detection of novel respiratory pathogen outbreaks.
Planned activity
This respiratory surveillance system is intended to track and study the epidemiology of respiratory infection in the United States. Tools developed from this project could ultimately support a broad network capable of detecting novel respiratory pathogen outbreaks across the country.
Awarded in 2023, this project is still in progress.
