The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) office in Ethiopia was established in 2001 and works closely with the Ministry of Health and other partners tomaintain strong programs in training, treatment,counseling and testing,  and laboratory capacity building.

As of March 30, 2017,  > 415,623 men, women and children received life-saving Antiretroviral therapy (ARV) treatment.

Of the 2.2 million people tested, 31,194 identified HIV positive.

454,073 pregnant women know their HIV status.

7,548 HIV-infected pregnant women identified, 7579 received lifelong antiretroviral therapy.

Of the 28,839 families and contacts of index cases who have accessed counseling and testing service, 1009 were identified positives.

2,222 voluntary medical male circumcision procedures were performed.

13 Confidential Sex Worker Clinics for Sexually Transmitted Diseases STIs/HIV have been established by CDC in Ethiopia.
