Message from the Deputy Country Director
Greetings to you all.
My name is Sherene Cora and I joined CDC Rwanda on May 26, 2017 as the Deputy Director for Management and Operations. Prior to joining CDC Rwanda, I was the Deputy Associate Director for Management and Operations for CDC Botswana from 2015-2017, and was the Project Officer for the government of Botswana Cooperative Agreement (CoAg) as well as other CoAgs from 2012-2015.
I earned my Masters of Public Health, Behavioral Sciences and Health Education, from Emory University, Rollins School of Public Health, Atlanta, GA and my Bachelor of Arts, Philosophy Major and Africana Studies Minor, from Hamilton College, Clinton, NY. I also earned a Certification/Credentialing Licensure as a Certified Health Education Specialist, and I’m a Commander in the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.
Departing Botswana after living there for almost five years is bittersweet, but I am very excited about our move to Rwanda because it reminds me of my home country, Jamaica. I consider myself very fortunate to be blessed with this incredible opportunity and look forward to exploring the country, making new friends, and working together as a team to support and further Rwanda’s public health goals.
Sincerely,
Sherene Cora
