Congratulations to CDC-Vietnam’s Country Director and Associate Deputy Director
In August, Michelle McConnell (left), CDC-Vietnam Country Director, and Jeanine Ambrosio (right), CDC Deputy Associate Director in the Ho Chi Minh City office, received the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) insignia for their contributions to HIV/AIDS prevention in a festive ceremony organized by HCMC officials. The HCMC insignia is an honorary insignia awarded to foreigners and individuals living in and outside of the city who contribute to the development of the city in politics, economy, or society. In his remarks during the presentation, Nguyen Huu Hung, deputy director of the HCMC Department of Health and vice chairman of the HCMC AIDS Committee, thanked McConnell and Ambrosio for supporting Ho Chi Minh City in “developing strategies for HIV programs; assuring quality, effectiveness and sustainability; and assisting the technical staff of HCMC AIDS Committee, institutes, and universities in HCMC in building capacity.” Read more on this award in CDC Connects.
