Ebola Outbreak Updates

On May 3, 2021, the Democratic Republic of the Congo Ministry of Health (MOH) and World Health Organization (WHO) declared the end of the Ebola outbreak in North Kivu Province. CDC worked with the MOH, WHO, and partners to implement response activities and will continue its support throughout the 90-day post outbreak enhanced surveillance period. Learn more

In Guinea, new cases of Ebola virus disease were reported in early April. CDC continues to support Guinea’s response to contain the spread of the virus and bring the outbreak to an end. Learn more

COVID-19 Outbreak Updates

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to break daily records, even as the global vaccination pace accelerates. Additionally, multiple variants of the virus that causes COVID-19 are circulating globally and within the United States. On April 19, 2021, the U.S. Department of State issued a Travel Advisory Update resulting in a significant increase in the number of countries classified as “Level 4: Do Not Travel,” to approximately 80% of countries worldwide.
