CDC’s SLMTA Program Supports International Accreditation of Public Health Laboratories
Funded through PEPFAR, CDC’s Strengthening Laboratory Management Toward Accreditation (SLMTA) program, is an international public health laboratory improvement tool. Launched in 2009, the program provides hands-on experience and training to enhance the quality, accuracy, and reliability of diagnostic test results. SLMTA works by using resources readily available in the local setting, with the sustainable goal of achieving international standard accreditation for laboratory testing. To date, more than 1,300 labs around the world have benefitted from the program.
