The Historic Achievement of a New Malaria Vaccine

One of the most important and exciting public health accomplishments in 2021 was the approval of the first malaria vaccine, the RTS,S/AS01 (RTS,S). CDC’s expertise and years of collaborative work with international partners, including a RTS,S pilot introduction in Kenya, contributed to the development of this promising vaccine.
