After more than three years with no cases of cholera, Haiti has been facing a resurgence that resulted in more than 30,000 suspected cases and almost 600 deaths since the start of the outbreak in October 2022. CDC is leading the interagency U.S. response working with the Haitian government and partners to stop the spread of the disease.

Malawi is currently experiencing the deadliest outbreak in the country’s history with over 50,000 cases and 1,500 deaths since March 2022. CDC has been providing technical assistance on water quality testing to increase safe drinking water access to households during the outbreak.
