Big Data Analytics & Applications in Public Health Webinar

In this December 1 presentation, CDC fellows Juliet Adeola, Allycia Kleine, and Raul Segura-Escano will define big data and big data analytics (BDA), discuss applications of big data in public health based on their recent fellowship projects, collaborations, and lessons learned. Big data analytics are critical in the paradigm shift from historical to predictive data science, enabling higher precision in public health.

These fellows will draw on unique perspectives representing three CDC fellowship programs to create the new program and course. BDAAPH is in the development stage and is being designed to address a gap between the knowledge and the application of BDA techniques, to solve public health problems motivating inter-program collaboration in a multidisciplinary environment to solve public health problems. To raise awareness about the program and train staff to use big data, these fellows will present their curriculum ideas for the course to launch as part of the BDAAPH program.
