Funded NGOs
The following non-governmental organizations (NGOs) receive funding from CDC’s Division of Adolescent and School Health to provide intensive technical assistance and capacity-building support to local and state education agencies to improve health and educational outcomes among children and adolescents.
Technical Assistance and Capacity Building
CDC funding is used to provide intensive technical assistance and capacity-building support for education agencies in one of four approaches:
-
- strengthening the effectiveness of instructional materials and their delivery;
- strengthening the effectiveness of health services initiatives that reduce HIV infection and other STDs;
- strengthening the effectiveness of initiatives to create and maintain safe and supportive environments in schools; and
- addressing policy and practice in state education agencies.
School-based Activities During COVID-19 Pandemic
CDC funding is used to mitigate the impacts of disruptions related to COVID-19 by providing training to education agencies to address the social, emotional, and mental health needs of school faculty and staff as well as how to support students’ social, emotional, and mental health needs.
