Where:

www.cdc.gov/media

Background:

ATSDR's Great Lakes Report compiles information on 146 Great Lakes–related site assessments done by ATSDR between 1982 and 2007. The report, which was requested by the International Joint Commission, provides a more complete picture of ongoing chemical releases and contamination into the 26 Great Lakes Areas of Concern. The report updates information on the status of the sites, with additional information from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other sources to reflect remediation efforts since the time of the initial assessment.
