National Immunization Conference

WHO:

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Immunization Program (NIP), 36th National Immunization Conference

WHAT:

During this conference, local, state, federal and private sector immunization partners will come together to explore science, policy, education, outreach, technology, and planning issues as they relate to childhood, adolescent and adult immunization initiatives, and global immunization issues. They will also continue to explore innovative strategies for developing programs, formulating policy, and conducting research to promote immunization. This year's conference will include a special session on bioterrorism preparedness and response.

Monday, April 29, 2002

  • David Fleming, M.D., Acting Director, CDC, (10:30 a.m.). Dr. Fleming will discuss the importance of maintaining our commitment to immunization programs
  • Walter A. Orenstein, M.D., Director, National Immunization Program, CDC, (10:40 a.m.). Dr. Orenstein will give an overview of some of the most recent accomplishments of immunization programs and identify some of the important issues facing immunization programs in the comming year.
