Statement on Fire at CDC

A fire occurred today at a construction site at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention located off of Clifton Road. The DeKalb Fire Department is currently on the scene and the fire is now out. The exact cause of the fire is unknown, but is believed to be accidental. No other CDC facilities were damaged. There is no public health threat as a result of this fire. The construction site was quickly evacuated and all the workers have been accounted for and there were no reported injuries. An adjacent building was evacuated as a precaution.
