CDC posted updates regarding two separate investigations: a multistate outbreak of gastrointestinal illnesses linked to raw oysters, and a multistate outbreak of Salmonella infections linked to frozen raw tuna.

Update: Gastrointestinal illnesses linked to raw oysters

  • At the request of Mexico’s public health authorities, all raw oysters harvested from Estero El Cardon and distributed from the last week of April 2019 through the first week of May 2019 have been recalled because of their link to an outbreak of gastrointestinal illnesses.
  • Do not eat, serve, or sell oysters harvested from Estero El Cardon, an estuary in Baja California Sur, Mexico. Throw away any products with harvest tags that indicate a growing area of Estero El Cardon.
