Molecular Epidemiology Fellowship

The MEF program trains laboratory scientists and bioinformaticians to become efficient, competent, and well-rounded molecular epidemiologists to navigate seamlessly between laboratory science and epidemiology.

Who Should Apply:

The program is open to all laboratory scientists with experience in generating or analyzing genomic data and bioinformaticians with laboratory experience, with a minimum of an MS degree.  Non-U.S. citizens will require additional approval based on immigration status.

Potential Candidates:

Host site information will be provided for final candidates. Based on candidates’ readings, interests, and program descriptions, selected host sites can be ranked depending on preference. However, the candidate’s answer does not guarantee that placement will align with the candidate’s program preference.

• We are anticipating 10-15 fellows for the new cohort.
• Anticipated host sites are CDC programs based in infectious diseases. Examples of host sites have been the mycotic, foodborne, waterborne, and respiratory diseases programs.

All interested programs are eligible to apply. Information entered on the application will be assessed and used to create an opportunity description for applicants.
