Oral Health
Oral health refers to health of the teeth, gums, and entire oral-facial system. In the United States, over half (52%) of children aged 6 to 8 years have had a cavity in their primary (baby) teeth. About 1 in 4 adults have untreated cavities. Almost half of adults over 30 show signs of gum disease. While oral health affects our ability to do things like eat, speak, and smile, oral health is also connected to our overall health. A growing number of studies show that people living with certain chronic conditions more often have untreated oral diseases or conditions.
