REACH 2018
CDC funds 40 recipients to reduce health disparities among racial and ethnic populations with the highest burden of chronic disease, such as hypertension, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and obesity. The recipients work through culturally tailored interventions to address preventable risk behaviors, including tobacco use, poor nutrition, and physical inactivity. The total includes 5 new recipients added in September 2020 and 4 new recipients starting in September 2021.

CDC is prioritizing increasing flu vaccination among racial and ethnic groups that are disproportionately affected by both influenza and COVID-19. Thirty-one REACH recipients received additional funding to educate and empower trusted voices and build partnerships between vaccination providers and the communities they serve in order to improve flu vaccination coverage for priority populations. Funding was provided by the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases.
