Over the past 7 years, NCEZID has collaborated with the government of Indonesia to build a state-of-the-art research laboratory capable of performing cutting-edge diagnostic work. Partnering with Indonesia has led to the first isolation of West Nile and Zika viruses and completion of a Zika virus seroprevalence study. Indonesia now has a better understanding of the number of people affected by vector-borne diseases and is using these data to guide interventions to prevent and control these diseases.
