Mining Feature: NIOSH Seeks Input on Black Lung Screening
Thursday, November 15, 2018
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is seeking information from all interested stakeholders through a Request for Information (RFI) in the Federal Register. The goal of the RFI is to gain input about potential barriers that limit active and non-active coal miner participation in the Coal Workers' Health Surveillance Program (CWHSP), which provides periodic health screening to coal miners.
NIOSH encourages coal miners, unions, industry management and associations, mining and health professionals, and all other interested stakeholders to consider reviewing questions in the RFI and providing responses.
The RFI was posted to the Federal Register on November 13, 2018, and will be open for 60 days, closing on January 14, 2019. Click on "Submit a Formal Comment" to offer feedback.
