Lakewood, CO: May 13, 2009 - May 14, 2009, Charleston, WV: May 19, 2009 - May 20, 2009

NIOSH sponsored workshops designed to familiarize attendees with communications and tracking technologies, the technical challenges of using these technologies in underground mines, and implementation issues relative to the requirements of the MINER Act of 2006. During this workshop, the Mine Safety and Health Administration also led discussions of regulatory and policy considerations relative to deploying these technologies.

Slides and videos of presentations made by NIOSH researchers are available for downloading below. In addition, you may request a DVD containing all the NIOSH workshop presentations by sending an email to mining@cdc.gov.
