Letter to All Respirator Manufacturers

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) employs the Army Edgewood Chemical Biological Center’s (ECBC) Test Laboratory to conduct the chemical warfare agent (CWA) testing portion of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) testing required for NIOSH CBRN approval. ECBC has reviewed the fees associated with the CWA testing that they perform. As a result of the most recent analysis, the fees charged by ECBC for conducting CWA tests have been revised. The new fees are effective September 1, 2014. All applications received on or after that date will be charged accordingly. The revised fees are listed below, by respirator type.
