The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL) is holding a meeting for all respirator manufacturers on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the NIOSH Pittsburgh site.

All manufacturers, manufacturer application preparers, and other interested parties are welcome to attend. Remote participation, via Adobe Connect, will be available. The meeting is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and will focus on the Standard Application Procedure.

Registration is required for on-site as well as remote participation. View the draft agenda.

REGISTRATION is CLOSED. Please email Judi Coyne with questions concerning registration.

Members of the Technology Evaluation Branch staff will be available for one-on-one meetings from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21 and from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 23. If you would like to schedule time to discuss quality assurance, project review, certification issues, or lab operations and post-certification monitoring activities, please contact Tom Pouchot. Tom may also be reached by telephone at 412-386-4036.

All participants must preregister by October 17. Because this meeting is being held at the NIOSH facility, all on-site meeting attendees will be required to present valid photo identification at the entry gate for admission to the site. For U.S. citizens, a valid driver’s license is preferred. Foreign nationals must present the same documents submitted with the visitor registration form (current passport, entry visa, or permanent residency card) at the security gate on the day of their visit.

Non-U.S. citizens – There are additional requirements for non-U.S. citizens to enter a federal facility. In order for approval to access to be granted, all paperwork, including a copy of your passport, entry visa, or permanent residency card, must be submitted to NIOSH NPPTL by October 3, 2014

Once your registration form, indicating you are not a U.S. Citizen, is received you will receive an email from International Visitor Requests (CDC). This email will include a link to a secure site requesting additional information. CDC approval must be established before entry to the CDC NIOSH site will be permitted. All foreign nationals must present the same documents submitted with the visitor registration form (current passport, entry visa, or permanent residency card) at the security gate on the day of your visit. If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact Karen Harvey at 412-386-4084.

Lodging: There are several hotels in close proximity to the NIOSH site.

Lunch: We will offer a box lunch option that will be delivered to the meeting room. The box lunch includes a sandwich, deli salad, chips, and a drink. The cost is $8.00 per person (cash only), which must be paid that morning. The selection information is included on the registration form.
