The National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL) is joining with the Institute of Medicine to host a public workshop on powered air-purifying respirators (PAPRs).

BACKGROUND

A public workshop will be held on August 7 and 8 at the Keck Center of the National Academies in Washington, DC on the use and effectiveness of powered air-purifying respirators in health care settings. There will be an opportunity to give public testimony at this workshop. If you are interested in providing testimony please email IOM Staff at COPPE@nas.edu and more information will be sent to you.

The Institute of Medicine (IOM) is an independent, nonprofit organization that works outside of government to provide unbiased and authoritative advice to decision makers and the public. NIOSH is the federal agency that conducts research and makes recommendations for preventing work-related injuries and illnesses. It was established under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970.
