ACEP Dashboard Helps Physicians Visualize ED COVID Data
Here’s one example of how data can be publicly shared without compromising patient confidentiality. The American College of Emergency Physicians’ dashboard uses syndromic data to show concurrent effects of COVID and influenza. See national data or drill down to see regions. Read more.

Tell us what you think. We need feedback on new chief complaint/discharge diagnosis categories and volunteers to test enhancements for the Access & Management Center. Also, new workgroups are being formed, so now’s the time to engage!
New syndrome definitions in ESSENCE follow: CDC COVID-Specific DD v1, ILI Syndrome Neg Coronavirus DD v1, ILI CCDD Neg Coronavirus DD v1, and Intimate Partner Violence. Fact sheets will be added to the NSSP Community of Practice Knowledge Repository.
Updates have been made to CLI CC with CLI DD and Coronavirus DD v1, CLI CC with CLI DD and Coronavirus DD v2, and CDC Coronavirus DD v1.

Ours scientists, analysts, and epidemiologists promote syndromic surveillance and educate others by publishing in MMWRs, journals, and books on public health.
These publications have been consolidated here.
NSSP Participation Map
NSSP is exploring how to better communicate the coverage provided by syndromic surveillance emergency department (ED) data. This map shows U.S. counties with emergency care facilities that participate in NSSP.
This will replace the measure based on the proportion of ED visits captured.
