2003 CHILD Participation Table and Map
Percentage of U.S. Children >4 months and < 6 years with 2+ Immunizations in IIS
In 2003, 44% of the U.S. children greater than 4 months less than 6 years of age (or about 22 million children) had 2 or more immunizations in a state or local immunization registry. Six states and two cities reported over 95% of their children greater than 4 months and less than 6 years of age with at least two immunizations in the Immunization Information System (IIS.)

2003 PUBLIC PROVIDER Participation Table and Map
Percentage of Public Providers Participating in IIS by Grantee
In the 50 states and 6 cities that operate registries regionally or state-wide, an average of 76% of public immunization provider sites submitted data to their registry during the last six months of 2003. Twenty states and four cities reported over 95% of their public immunization provider sites submitting data to the Immunization Information System. These results are based on self reported data from CDC immunization grantees.
MA and MD provider participations are not reported. Within each state, only Boston and Baltimore City reported rates. The rates were too small to reflect an accurate picture of provider participation in each state.

Percentage of Private Providers Participating in IIS by Grantee
In the 50 states and 6 cities that operate registries regionally or state-wide, an average of 36% of private provider sites submitted data to the registry during the last six months of 2003. Arkansas, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Mississippi, and South Dakota reported over 95% of their private immunization provider sites submitting data to the Immunization Information Systems. The results are based on self reported data from CDC immunization grantees.
MA and MD provider participations are not reported. Within each state, only Boston and Baltimore City reported rates. The rates were too small to reflect a more accurate picture of provider participation in each state.
