Highlights from state collaborations include:
Alabama
- Creating state maps to illustrate prevalence of poverty, low vision and diabetes
- Conducting the first Alabama Vision Summit with 100+ participants to discuss strategies to improve access to care
- Producing radio PSAs to increase awareness of need for glaucoma screening
- Highlighting PPOD (Pharmacy, Podiatry, Optometry, and Dentistry) at provider conferences

Nebraska
- Collecting data through a BRFSS vision module implemented at the state level
- Developing new fact sheets on vision and eye health burden
- Surveying FQHC’s (federally qualified health centers) to assess gaps in vision and eye health

Ohio
- Conducting ongoing training of Matter of Balance coaches to explore falls and vision impairment
- Developing tool kits, outlining how other states can develop an initiative like the Aging Eye Public Private Partnership
- Engaging stakeholders in arenas such as the Ohio statehouse and Ohio legislative breakfast to highlight the importance of early detection and treatment of eye problems
