Brain Health and Vision Health
Research has found that vision impairment often co-occurs with cognitive impairment. To address this public health problem, CDC’s Vision Health Initiative in partnership with Prevent Blindness and the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors developed an issue brief about the relationship between vision impairment and cognitive impairment. The brief also provides potential strategies for integrating vision and eye health programs that can help improve quality of life for people with cognitive impairment.
