CDC Tanzania: On the Frontlines of Public Health

CDC established an office in Tanzania in 2001 to support HIV/AIDS prevention. Support has expanded to include tuberculosis prevention and malaria control as well as strengthening emergency management, laboratory and surveillance systems and workforce capacity. CDC Tanzania supports the country’s COVID-19 response and vaccine deployment. In the photo above, a community mobilizer promotes COVID-19 safety measures and vaccination in an open market.
