Given new evidence on the B.1.617.2 (Delta) variant, CDC has updated the guidance for fully vaccinated people. CDC recommends universal indoor masking for all teachers, staff, students, and visitors to K-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status. Children should return to full-time in-person learning in the fall with layered prevention strategies in place.

The White House announced that vaccines will be required for international travelers coming into the United States, with an effective date of November 8, 2021. For purposes of entry into the United States, vaccines accepted will include FDA approved or authorized and WHO Emergency Use Listing vaccines. More information is available here.

What to Do if You Have COVID-19

Protect yourself and other people if you have COVID-19.
Stay at home for at least 5 days.
Wear a mask around other people for 10 days.
Get medicine if you think you might get very sick.

Stay at Home

Stay at home when you have COVID-19.
Stay at home for at least 5 days.
Stay away from other people in your home.
Stay in your own room if you can.
Use a separate bathroom if you can.
Avoid sharing cups.
Avoid sharing towels.

You might feel sick for more than 5 days.
Stay home until your fever is gone and you feel better.
You can leave home after 5 days if you feel fine.
You can leave home after 5 days if your fever is gone.

Wear a Mask

Wear a mask around other people when you have COVID-19.
Wear a mask for 10 days after you start feeling sick.
Wear a mask for 10 days after you test positive.

Wear a mask with extra protection.
The mask must cover your nose and mouth.
The mask must fit under your chin.
The mask must be snug on your face.
Make sure breathing is easy when wearing the mask.

Know if You Might Get Very Sick

Some people get very sick from COVID-19.
People who are 50 years old or older might get very sick.
People with disabilities might get very sick.
People with serious health problems might get very sick.
People with a weakened immune system might get very sick.
People who are pregnant might get very sick.
People who have not gotten a COVID-19 shot might get very sick.

Call your doctor if you get COVID-19 and might get very sick.

Get Medicine if You Think You Might Get Very Sick

Call your doctor right away if you get sick with COVID-19.
There is medicine you can take for COVID-19.
Taking medicine can help you stay out of the hospital.
It is important to take the medicine right away.
