Module 5: Introduction to Coding

Objectives

By the end of this module, participants will be able to:

  • understand the importance of coding;
  • understand the importance of good clinical description and documentation for accurate coding;
  • describe advantages and disadvantages of the ICD-10 and ICD-10 RCPCH extension;
  • identify critical issues for coding.
